Your tour will bring you to places synonymous with Seamus Heaney, including the villages of Castledawson, Bellaghy and Toome. Along the way you will visit The Turf Man, a life-size representation of Nobel Laureate Seamus Heaney's most famous poem Digging as well as a number of key places from the poet's 'first world' that were to provide the inspiration for much of his work.
Step into Seamus Heaney HomePlace and begin your journey through the life and literature of the poet and Nobel Laureate.
Standing at the heart of the place and a people which so inspired him, HomePlace includes a stunning exhibition which interprets Seamus Heaney’s work. The entire space over two floors is filled with personal stories and artefacts, dozens of family photographs, video recordings from friends, neighbours and cultural figures, and the voice of the poet himself reading his own words.
A special tour for literature and poetry lovers and for anyone interested in living history. Join us and follow in the footsteps of this legendary Irishman. This is a private small-group 7-hour tour from Belfast or by prior arrangement from anywhere in Ireland. 'History says, don’t hope on this side of the grave.
But then, once in a lifetime the longed-for tidal wave of justice
can rise up and hope and history rhyme'
